On June 19, 2019, the Marijuana Enforcement Division issued MED Industry Bulletin 19-02 in regards to audited product, heavy metals, and mycotoxin testing.
EFFECTIVE DATE: July 1, 2019
Audited Products to be subject to additional microbial contaminant testing for the following substances: Total aerobic microbial count, Staphylococcus Aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bile tolerant gram negative bacteria, and Candida albicans.
At this time, no Medical or Retail Marijuana Testing Facilities are certified to conduct these additional tests.
Requirements to test Audited Products for the substances listed above will not take effect until one or more Testing Facilities are certified to conduct such tests.
HEAVY METALS TESTING
EFFECTIVE DATE: January 1, 2020
Licensees are permitted to begin required heavy metals testing prior to Jnuary 1, 2020 if they wish to begin working towards process validation.
At this time, no Medical or Retail Marijuana Testing Facilities are certified to conduct heavy metals testing.
EFFECTIVE DATE: No date has been provided yet by the MED.
Mycotoxin testing is required for remediated concentrates only.
